Welcome to the Law Office of John H. Rooney, Jr., P.A.
John H. Rooney, Jr., P.A. is a Florida professional association based in Miami, Florida. We represent clients throughout the United States and Latin America in international business matters, including international arbitrations and insurance matters, in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
John Rooney has been practicing law in the State of Florida since 1996. He's licensed to practice law in Florida, Louisiana and Texas, and is active in academics and legal research relating to arbitration and international commercial law and dispute resolution in general. In addition to his experience in the area of international insurance and reinsurance, he has handled a wide range of matters, including telecommunications, ship construction, corporate disputes, distribution arrangements, hotel management agreements, and disputes involving states and their foreign sovereign immunity.
As an attorney licensed to practice in Louisiana (the only state of the United States with a civil law rather than a common law legal system), John Rooney brings an important comparative perspective to the matters that he handles. His understanding of civilian substantive and procedural law puts him in an almost unique position to advise clients from civilian jurisdictions with legal matters that concern the United States. He has plead as lead co-counsel and served as chair of arbitrations in Spanish.
If you have a need for representation in an international business or insurance dispute, we'd love to help you. For more information, give us a call or click here to send us an e-mail.
